The Rudely Rude Dudes Ouch!

Inspired by the “loosely loose news” here’s my version of the rudely rude dudes… hee hee hee interested…yup..you should be…as you get a glimpse of my rudely rude snippet compilation.

OK, but how rude Sumi, how could you  write something so nonchalant in a professional forum….aa oohh eeeoow, upfront apologies to all gate keepers of content on this platform. I was inspired by my interaction with 20’s and 30′ s kiddos of our corporate world who feel they have arrived in life…God knows though where the arrival was ..in a trench of delusions maybe :),  huhhhh sorry for being saasy….wasn’t trying at all ;D.

OK OK OK..sooooooooo here we go folks.

Family setting and a simple statement, you have gained weight…a simple thing you just said to someone who is 11 years younger to you, the response well can be yeah I did or just a smile, but the response you get is…so what, life is a series of ups and downs..huh, what? Did it make sense, maybe not. But you prefer to keep quiet as who wants to speak to an ill mannered  person…so guys and girls …..welcome to the generation of discourteous individuals.

Cut 2, an important  presentation and you ask your competent huh well seemingly  competent  junior to work on the data and apparently he does or well appears to work on it. You trust this engineer and MBA dude and focus on dousing a fire elsewhere. You check in the evening for an update so you can discuss and finalize the presentation for the next day. The copy sent is zilch with half assed data put haphazardl…. OMG! heart attack, panic attack, anxiety attack..every  attack under the sun seems to hit you and when you ask agitatedly as to what is this, you get an equally agitated  reply… I havent eaten in time, its past my work hours, my mum wants me to buy vegetables… I was not hired do this, I need a release…ouch!..chuck it..get out of my project, my office, my life for all I care, but what do I do for tomorrow…familiar situation for us Marketing professionals…yeah.

Ok cut 3, you are interviewing freshly graduated  MBA’s returned from sabbatical.  This guy is from a prestigious institute,  you are more or less OK to get him on-board, he is an existing employee anyway who got his skills upgraded. So in the interview you just want to build a rapport.

The guy enters the room, gives you a once over and says, I came back as the money was better, I don’t want to work here….ohhhkkk so do you want to stay or you want to leave..what do you want…the answer to that was well was a blank stare….and a reluctant tacit agreement for a discussion.  Now you are lost as to what to ask, so you resort to a basic question…could you talk about the 7C’s of communication….the answer…I don’t know… huh, you just did your MBA in Marketing and you don’t know? The answer… I don’t remember this nonsense…. I am from Abc institute …the name is enough….huh!, ohhhkkkkkk…

Cut 4, a delivery manager running from pillar to post trying to get incident tickets resolved…where is the level 2 support team??? Huh……the client is yelling and the team has vanished into thin air….. helppppppp! The calls arent being answered,  the person is not on his seat, teams/ slack/ meet no response. What to do??????

After one hour, the person walks in all relaxed, you have gone crazy and you demand to know where did this guy dissappeared to when he knew there was a crisis….response,” Lunch time is one hour” and that’s it. Huh, ohhkkk but this is an extraordinary situation…

The answer,  ” I can’t take so much stress, release me”, familiar …what say you delivery heads and project managers and team leaders… familiar situation huh!

Hmm these are situations and individuals we face almost daily. This devil may care attitude is spreading across. What these individuals do not  realize is that they will not be able to learn, augment skills, gain confidence of supervisors or rise in life as attitude and aptitude both are required to succeed.

Anyways, how did you like my compilation of rudely rude dudes … care was taken to restrict my emotions…so as not to go overboard :D.

But a call out to the youngsters……these are your formative years…learn as much as you can…you have a support system in your supervisor, they will protect you in case you make a mistake…but get your attitude right. Rude behavior is the greatest turnoff and this will cost you your relationships both personal and professional. So, a piece of advise …….internalise your thoughts, leave your ego at home, get hands on expertise and be ready to conquer the world. All the best!
